The Purpose of this Site

Each month highlights different preparedness goals. This site allows you to review past goals and move on to future goals to meet the needs of yourself and your family. Click on the link offered each month for family home evening ideas on the topic, a short list of items to work on having in your home, group specials in which you may participate, training available, along with articles, helpful websites, and longer explanations for further study.

Emergency preparedness is a continual process that requires monthly evaluation and almost daily consideration. It is important not to become overwhelmed such that you never start, and it is also very important not to take on too much at once.

Below are quotes from two talks entitled "If Ye Are Prepared Ye Shall Not Fear" given by two of the Lord's modern Prophets. Click on each to read the entire article.

"We do live in turbulent times. Often the future is unknown; therefore, it behooves us to prepare for uncertainties." --President Thomas S. Monson Ensign, Nov 2004, 113

"We can so live that we can call upon the Lord for His protection and guidance. … We cannot expect His help if we are unwilling to keep His commandments." -- President Gordon B. Hinkley Ensign, Nov 2005, 60

You may also wish to get a head start on your overall preparedness by following "Thirty Days and Thirty Ways to Be Better Prepared" and "30 More Days and 30 More Ways to Be Better Prepared" or Thirty Things to Prepare That Are Free, or Almost Free all written by Carolyn Nicolaysen of Meridian Magazine.

A presentation of emergency information and pictures is offered as a download from this which may be a valuable resource for you. The information contained in it must be considered by you individually as it may only be necessary at the opinion of the author.

Thank you to all of you who have offered and continue to offer your feedback and help for this site.
